
Kera Beach, Crete, Greece
The name Kera Light came from Kera Beach on
the beautiful island of Crete, Greece. This beach captured my heart and
soul and I found myself making an email address based on my experience
there.
Years later, Kera Light Candles was conceived:
I was invited to a dear
friend's house one rainy winter evening to do a little candle making…it
brought back memories of my childhood love of candles and how many
times I bungled at making them in the past from left over candles.
Making them at my friend's house was so much fun and seemed so simple;
I fell in love all over again. Afterward, I had a beautifully finished
candle that when I showed people they "oohed and awed".
I then started investigating how to get my own equipment and
start making them on my own. After I perfected my technique of handmade candles, I then solicited some stores in the tourist section
of Xania, Crete, Greece. A store owner informed me the word "Kera" is a
derivative of the Greek word for "Candle" which is: "Keri".
It was meant to be….
I moved back to the states after over four years in Greece to start up
my business, and I continue to investigate how the best candles are made. I have had only positive testimonies on each of my candles.
